What is the NextGen Roadmapping (NGR) Event
The NextGen Roadmapping Event is an important event which is used to align team to work within an area such as as portfolio. Stakeholders come together to assess the planned roadmap (particularly changes to the roadmap) and evaluate where and in which constellations teams can bring the most value to the organization.
The event is tuned to the scope of change (if there are only minor adjustments to the roadmap, a slimmed down meeting is used).
Purpose
to generate and maintain a mapping of which teams are working for which initiativeds in the upcoming planning cycle.
Agree and socialize changes
When should the meeting take place:
once each planning cycle (e.g. quarterly) around the middle of the running cycle after the Portfolio/Zone Mapping Workshop.
Who should participate:
Enterprise architects, financial and other relevant stakeholders.
Senior Portfolio Manager, Portfolio responsibles, portfolio initiative responsibles
Implementation responsibles (Zone owners), line representatives and team representatives.
Input
Input information should include current roadmaps and expected impacted business capabailities, team capacity and deployment overviews
Decisions/Output:
Potential changes to portfolio topic roadmaps / prioritization
Team assignments to the associated Portfolio Initatives for the next cycle (their implementation zones)
corresponding financial information to portfolio initiative prioritization adjustments.
Notes:
Meeting takes place for each planning cycle and should be adjusted in size based on need.
